Spotlight rolls out second resource hub: Immigration

Tucson Spotlight is rolling out its Immigration hub, the second of five resource hubs on its website connecting Tucsonans to trusted local organizations working on legal aid, humanitarian assistance, citizenship classes, and rapid response networks.

Like the Basic Needs hub before it, Immigration grew directly out of Tucson Spotlight's Information Ecosystem Assessment, a months-long listening effort that surveyed residents across Pima County about what information and resources they struggle to find. Immigration-related needs surfaced repeatedly in that process, from residents unsure where to turn for legal help to those looking for ways to support their neighbors amid shifting federal enforcement.

The hub points residents toward organizations already doing that work, from legal aid groups like Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project and Keep Tucson Together to humanitarian responders like No More Deaths and Humane Borders, community-based groups like Derechos Humanos and Colibrí Center for Human Rights, and government resources like the Mexican Consulate.

Immigration is the second of five planned hubs. Civic Participation, Community Development and Education will follow, each tied to the issue areas residents flagged most often in the IEA.

The complete hub will officially launch alongside a volunteer fair, where residents can meet the organizations featured across all five hubs, learn about volunteer opportunities, and hear about what the IEA uncovered.

You can explore the Immigration hub map here, read more about our IEA findings here, and stay tuned for details about our resource fair, planned for this fall.

Explore the hub and let us know what you think through our short survey. Your feedback shapes what we build next.
