We’re getting closer! Help us unlock our full $10K match
Join your neighbors and make a donation. Every dollar still doubles.
Tucson Spotlight team members Caitlin Schmidt, Angelina Maynes and Ian Stash at the Empowering Minds conference on Oct. 21.
We’re so grateful for the incredible support we received on Giving Tuesday and since launching our Fund the Future of Journalism campaign. Every matched gift brings us closer to sustaining bilingual, community-centered reporting in Southern Arizona.
We’re already 25% of the way toward unlocking our full $10,000 donor match, but we need your help to cross the finish line.
When you give, your donation will still be doubled. That means twice the resources for reporters, community storytelling and essential local news.
“Working at Tucson Spotlight has taught me not only how to be a good journalist, but why we need good journalists. When we don’t have community-focused non-profit journalism, a lot of things slip through the cracks," said intern Ian Stash. "Plenty of the things we cover are only covered by Tucson Spotlight. Every city needs a newsroom run by members of the community for members of the community.”
Your support directly funds paid opportunities for student and early-career journalists who are learning the craft by reporting real stories across Southern Arizona.
"This newsroom has turned my passion for writing into a purpose for my community. Working with Tucson Spotlight has taught me that local journalism isn't just about breaking news, it's about showing up, listening, and letting our community know we're here to support them as they have supported us," said social media manager Angelina Maynes. "We're not just another outlet, we're just a group of young people speaking up for others who call this place home. Tucson Spotlight has helped me find my voice and use it for something that matters."
