Tucson Summer Reading Club party set for August 16

Tucson Spotlight and Tucson Tome Gnome's Summer Reading Club for Adults is closing out its inaugural season with a community celebration designed to bring back the nostalgic joy of school book fairs, only this time with breakfast burritos and candles.

The wrap party will take place Saturday, August 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at Di Luna Candles and Goods, 2700 N. Campbell Ave.

Reading challenge participants can show their trackers and bingo cards to claim prizes, which are available on a first come, first served basis. You must be present to collect your rewards and enter the tote bag raffle—so come pick up those hard-earned stickers, bookmarks, and pizza gift cards!

Readers who complete a row or more on their bingo cards will also be entered into a raffle to win an exclusive tote bag, with winners announced at 10:30 a.m.

Attendees can enjoy breakfast from Señor Taco, sip on a cool beverage from Espressoul Cafe and browse books and bookish creations from local vendors, including Homeward Books CollectiveStacks Book ClubLey Amber CollectiveMombie DesignsMoka's KreationsTacobout CraftingLX AestheticsDesert and Stone, Yeet that Teet, Bembastic Macrame and more.

And for anyone wanting a permanent souvenir of their summer reading adventures, local fine line tattoo artist Vons Artistry will be offering bookish flash tattoos.

The celebration will also feature a book swap, giving readers the chance to trade their summer reads and discover new favorites.

The event is a chance to celebrate the joy of summer reading, connect with fellow book lovers, and support local businesses.
