Tucson Spotlight news survey to close in March

Tucson Spotlight’s community survey on local news needs in Southern Arizona enters its final stretch, with responses accepted through March.

Tucson Spotlight news survey to close in March
Tucson Spotlight’s community survey invites residents across Pima County to share feedback on local news needs, trusted information sources and preferred ways to stay informed.

Tucson Spotlight is entering the final stretch of a nine-month community survey and listening initiative aimed at improving local news coverage in historically underrepresented neighborhoods across Southern Arizona.

The survey, which will close at the end of March, focuses on gathering feedback from residents in Pima County, with an emphasis on Spanish-speaking households, youth and older adults. Through bilingual surveys, community events, listening sessions and one-on-one interviews, the newsroom has sought to better understand how residents access information and where gaps may exist.

The survey looks at where residents get their news, how they prefer to receive information and what they think is missing from local coverage. The results will help guide Tucson Spotlight’s future reporting and community outreach.

At the conclusion of the project, Tucson Spotlight will release a bilingual public report summarizing the results, along with an internal action plan to guide its next steps.

Residents interested in participating before the survey closes have two options: A short, four question survey or a slightly longer, 10 question survey. Respondents who take either survey and enter the source code "FINAL STRETCH" will be entered into a raffle to win a Tucson Spotlight prize pack and a gift card to one of our favorite local businesses.
