Tucson Spotlight joins 19th News Network

Tucson Spotlight has joined The 19th News Network, a national collective of local and regional newsrooms committed to promoting racial and gender equity in politics and policy journalism.

As a bilingual newsroom rooted in the community, Tucson Spotlight will collaborate with The 19th and fellow network members to produce reporting that highlights women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and communities of color—stories that are often underreported or overlooked.

Through the network, Tucson Spotlight plans to share and co-publish high-impact journalism and pitch stories that bring the realities of Southern Arizona to a broader national audience. The partnership supports Tucson Spotlight’s mission to provide free, accessible, and community-driven reporting.

The newsroom anticipates opportunities to co-report on issues important to local readers, including immigration, reproductive rights, education, and gender equity. The collaboration aims to elevate diverse voices, foster new partnerships, and deliver journalism that informs and empowers.
