Pre–festival party to kick off Tucson Festival of Books

Tucson’s literary community will gather March 7 for a pre-festival event ahead of the Tucson Festival of Books.

Tucson Spotlight and the Tucson Tome Gnome are hosting a Pre–Tucson Festival of Books Party from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at La Suprema Works and Events, 319 W. Simpson St.

The event is intended to bring readers, authors and local businesses together ahead of the annual festival weekend. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet guest authors Jen DeLuca, Sarah T. Dubb and Courtney Gustafson, as well as browse a marketplace featuring local vendors including The Paper Cat Bookshop, Stacks Book Club, Di Luna Candles and Why Choose.

The event will also serve as the exclusive pickup location for Tucson Spotlight’s official Tucson Festival of Books scavenger hunt cards. Participants who complete a row on the scavenger hunt during the festival and return it to Tucson Spotlight's booth will be entered into a raffle to win a bundle of books and book-related merchandise.

In addition to author meet-and-greets and shopping, several interactive activities are planned. The Tucson Tome Gnome will host a “Blind Date With a Book” swap and organizers are also collecting gently used books to stock Little Free Libraries throughout Tucson.

Food and drinks from Adi’s Agua Frescas will be available to purchase during the event.

Space is limited and RSVPs are required. Find details and register here.
